As part of the baby cards I just created , I did a scalloped edge on one of the layers. So I thought I would do a tutorial on how to create this edge. You can create the scalloped edge with both the corner rounder, and the slit punch, I will show you with the corner rounder, and the principal is the same with the slit punch, with the exception that you can only do one size of border, because the whole piece of cardstock goes into the slit punch, where as with the corner rounder, you can just scallop the edge of what ever size of paper you want, even circles and ovals can be decorated with this quick technique!!
Supplies needed:
Piece of cardstock, make sure that you eave about 1/4 inch extra then what you need as most of that will be trimmed.
corner rounder
Directions:
1. You have to remove the guard around the corner rounder, gently pull the guard away from the punch, and then pull off. Doing this gently is key because with too much pulling you can bust your guard. It wont happen though if you use a gentle tug, and don't pull it away to far from the punch before removing it. You will be able to tell when it can come off.

2. Now that the guard is off, slid your paper into the punch, starting at the edge of the paper, you are going to line up one of the corners to the edge of your piece, so that you can see through to the punch in the one corner.

3. Once you have punched one, the rest of the side you are punching will be the same, except that you will line up tip to tip so you can see the tip of the last scallop in the tip of the punch, and do this all the way to the end.

Here is the picture of the cards that I did with this technique.

too cool didn't know that guard came off. thanks for the tip

I have two corner rounder punches but neither of them have a guard like the one seen in the pictures above. What make punch are you using? Looking forward to your response so I can get that kind of a punch and make scalloped edges. Thanks.
