Merry Christmas! Well not quite yet, but for the next 12 days I hope it feels like it here for you! I have planned some new tutorials, based on christmas stuff, and I hope you will check back each day to see what I am up to!
On the first day of Christmas my SU demo taught me...
How to make an ornament gift card holder for my tree!
Supplies Needed:
Big Shot
Circle, Scallop Die
Scrap piece of Old Olive Cardstock, and Real Red Cardstock
1 5.5x5.5 piece of Ski Slope DSP
15.5x5.5 piece of Old Olive Cardstock
1 Large Felt Snowflake from Little Felt Flurries
1 2x6 piece of Real Red Cardstock
4 Dimensionals
1 large Diamond Brad from the Pretties Kit
Round Tab Punch
2 gold brads
1/8" Circle Punch
Scallop Edge Punch
Sticky Strip
Paper Trimmer
Scissors
12" of stretchy gold cord
Versamark
White Embossing Powder
Directions:
1. Run both 5.5x5.5 pieces of paper through your Big Shot machine using the Circle, Scallop Die, running the side of the dsp that you want to show, towards the die and the piece of cardstock over that.
2. Cut the dsp scallop down about 1 1/2" with your paper trimmer
3. Using your Scallop Edge Punch, punch out enough scallops so that you are able to cut out 10 scallops as pictured above.
4. Mount this to the back of the dsp centering the 10 scallops.
5. Using sticky Strip, in about 1" sections, around the scalloped edge of the circle only, adhere the dsp to the Old Olive Cardstock Scallop circle.
6. Punch out a Round tab punch and fold it in half, adhering it to the top of your scallop ornament
7. Using 2 gold brads, poke them into the top of the ornament at the bas of the round tab punch, this will keep the round tab punch from coming off if it is pulled at on the tree.
8. Punch a hole in a felt snowflake and push through the large diamond brad into the snowflake, add a dimensional to the back of this combination and adhere it to the ornament as shown above.
9. Stamp your sentiment on the scrap piece of Old Olive with Versmark and heat emboss it with White Embossing Powder., from there trim down the strip so that there is a bit of paper on each end and a smaller amount on the top and bottom. Cut out a triangle shape on the right side of this strip
10. Curl the strip a bit and then attach a dimensional under the piece that sticks up the most and one closer to the end that you cut out the triangle from, then peel off the backing of just the dimensional that is in the curled part, and stack a second dimensional on top of it.
11. Peel off the back of the stacked dimensionals and the single one at the end and adhere it to the card as shown.
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
