Inspire Me Monday #6

I so need Spring!!

So I decided to look for a spring image for my Inspire Me Monday piece this week and well, I found one!!

Here is the image that inspired me!!

Using the "Thwacking" with markers I made this card...

"thwacking" is where you ink the whole image with the lightest color you will be using, you do this so that you dont have to worry about missing spots with the rest of the technique, then using markers of other colors you use the felt side of the marker and kind of drum the side of the marker onto the stamp.  Repeat this with all the colors that you are using, then "huff" on the stamp so that everything is evenly wet before stamping it down on your cardstock.  I think this technique is beautiful but had never tried it before now!!

Markers: Regal Rose, Pixie Pink, Rose Red
Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Cutie Pie DSP
Accessories: Jumbo Eyelets, Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon, Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon

Inspire Me Monday #1

Well this weeks inspiration is....

I love the colors and the images in this and thought that i could some how recreate this in a card....  here it is...

In the New Year....

So I am hoping that this year will be a great one for me and for all of you.  I don't like to make new years resolutions, and I'm not going to make this one.  I just want this year to be full of new things, and new ideas, and leaps that I didn't take last year.  Which leads me to why I am just posting thoughts today instead of a creation...

My friend and I were talking about the Artisan Award.  its a great contest where demonstrators from senior associate and up can submit works for judging.  You have to submit 5 cards, 3 scrapbook single layouts only,  and 2 3-d projects.  Last year I thought about it but never did anything about it.  But I will be submitting this year.  I am not sure what I will be doing yet, but I will be looking for inspiration all over the place, I will post what is inspiring me on a new segment on my blog called "Inspire Me Mondays", where I will post a picture of something that inspired me to create, to in hopes inspire you to do the same.  You are welcome to post a link to what you made with my inspiration in the comments of this blog so that we can see what you have created! Most often then not I will post what I created with the inspiration.  But I will not be posting my submissions for the Artisan Awards, as in the rules of the Artisan awards it says that they can't be posted on any website before the contest, so you will have to wait to see my submissions until after that because I don't want to break any of the rules.
